Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 12, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information PixelRec ("PixelRec", "we", "us") collects when you visit pixelrec.com or purchase and use the PixelRec plugin, how we use it, and the choices you have. Payments are handled by our checkout provider, Gumroad — we never see or store your full card details.

1. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to sell, deliver, and support PixelRec:

  • Purchase & license information. When you buy PixelRec, our checkout provider Gumroad collects your email address and payment details and shares the sale confirmation (email, order/sale ID, product purchased) with us so we can generate and email your license key. We store your email, your license key, and activation information (for example, how many devices a key has been activated on).
  • Support information. If you contact us at contact@pixelrec.com, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.
  • Usage & device data. Like most websites, our hosting and analytics tools automatically receive standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, referring page, and the pages you view.
  • Advertising & attribution data. If you arrive from an ad, we may read marketing parameters in the link (for example utm_source, utm_campaign) and an ad click identifier, and store them in your browser so we can understand which campaigns lead to purchases. This is not linked to your identity by us.

We do not collect payment card numbers, and we do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information.

2. How we use information

  • To process your purchase and deliver your license key.
  • To validate license activations and provide product updates and support.
  • To operate, secure, and improve our website and the plugin.
  • To measure and improve our marketing, including which ads and pages lead to purchases.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

3. Cookies & similar technologies

We use a small number of cookies and browser-storage items:

  • Advertising / analytics cookies set by the Meta (Facebook) Pixel — for example _fbp — to measure ad performance and prevent duplicate event counting.
  • Local storage keys (for example pxr_attr_first and pxr_attr_last) that remember which campaign referred you so attribution isn't lost as you browse. These stay on your device and are not sold.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; parts of the site may still work normally. Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies (see the note below).

If you are in a region that requires prior consent for advertising cookies (such as the EU, UK, or parts of the US), consent-management controls apply to those cookies. If a consent banner is not yet shown in your region, you can opt out using the browser and Meta controls described under "Your rights & choices."

4. Advertising & the Meta Pixel

We advertise PixelRec on Meta platforms (Facebook and Instagram). To measure those ads, our website uses the Meta Pixel, which reports events such as page views, product views, and checkout starts to Meta. The actual purchase event is reported by Gumroad's own Meta integration when a payment is confirmed. Meta may use this data as an independent controller in accordance with its own Data Policy. We share event data with Meta but do not send Meta your license key or payment details.

5. Third-party services

We rely on trusted providers who process data on our behalf or as independent controllers:

  • Gumroad — checkout, payment processing, and receipts. See Gumroad's Privacy Policy.
  • Meta Platforms — advertising and conversion measurement (Meta Pixel).
  • Our web host and email provider — to serve the website and send license/support emails.

We do not sell your personal information.

6. Data retention

We keep purchase and license records for as long as needed to support your license, provide updates, and meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements. Support messages are kept only as long as needed to resolve your request and maintain records. You can ask us to delete your data as described below, subject to those legal requirements.

7. Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email contact@pixelrec.com and we will respond as required by applicable law.

  • Advertising opt-out: adjust your Meta ad preferences in your Facebook/Instagram settings, and use your browser or device controls to limit ad tracking.
  • Cookies: clear or block cookies and local storage in your browser.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

PixelRec is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age required by their local law (for example, under 16 in parts of the EU). If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
