About this video

What you are watching.

This short video shows a full Photoshop illustration being made: a group of characters in a subway car. It starts as a line sketch, moves to grayscale shading, then adds color, lighting and the final details. The whole session is sped up into 11 seconds.

  • ✓Only the canvas is recorded — no Photoshop panels, menus or cursor.
  • ✓Zooming and panning during the session do not show up in the video.
  • ✓The finished file is a standard MP4, ready for Instagram, TikTok, X or YouTube.

Photoshop has no built-in way to record a timelapse like this. It was made with PixelRec, a Photoshop timelapse plugin that records the canvas while you draw and exports an MP4 at the speed you choose.
